Seattle Events
Breathing is our connection to the source of life, and breath is a bridge that connects body and mind, conscious and subconscious, and the individual self and universal soul.
Breathwork is an accessible way to transcend ordinary states of mind and explore more deeply within, and to reconnect with the profound wisdom, beauty, and regenerative capacity within.
In these 2.5-hour sessions, you will be guided in a journey of conscious connected breathwork, a practice that involves a circular flow of breathing combined with music to gently catalyze expanded states of awareness and embodied, somatic experience. Like a therapy session without words or a light psychedelic experience, breathwork can help you see from new perspective, release physical and psychological tension, and reconnect to your authentic Self.
Breathwork in community is one of the most powerful ways to experience this work, as the amplified collective energy serves as a powerful resource of healing, encouragement, and support. For those seeking to know themselves more deeply, please join us for a transformational journey of breath.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
-
The event begins with an introduction to the practice of breathwork, instruction of the breathing technique, and Q&A.
We'll then break into smaller groups (10-12 participants) for more intimate introductions, intention setting, and further Q&A with a facilitator.
The 80-minute breathwork journey will follow, in which you'll engage an active 3-part circular breathing technique for approximately 65-minutes, with time after to simply rest and integrate your experience (like shavasana in yoga).
We will then regroup in our smaller breakouts for optional sharing, before returning to the large group to close the ceremony together.

This style of breathwork is a form of conscious connected breathwork (CCB) that utilizes a 3-part breath: a 2-part active inhale followed by a passive exhale, all through the mouth*. The rhythmic breathing is done reclined, with invitations to explore sighing exhales, breath retentions, vocal toning, and body movement throughout the journey.
*While optimal day-to-day breathing is through the nose, this particular form of breathwork utilizes the mouth to catalyze the experiential state shifts.

Like a psychedelic journey, each breathwork session offers a unique experience. Commonly, people report:
Physical & Energetic Sensations:
You may feel energy flowing through your body as vibrations, heaviness grounding you, or lightness as if levitating. Tension may surface and release. While you may navigate more dynamic energetic and physical terrain, most people experience deep relaxation and stillness as the journey concludes, leaving you feeling grounded and lighter.Emotional Connection & Release:
Breathwork can help release unprocessed emotions—grief, joy, gratitude—without needing words. Many feel emotionally lighter and more at ease, gaining clarity and deeper emotional understanding.Insight & Spiritual Experience:
Breathwork often sparks creativity, vivid imagery, and profound 'spiritual' insight that allows you to see and understand deeper truths about your self, your relationships, and this life. Many feel a deep sense of interconnectedness and profound sense of peace. -
A dynamic and thoughtfully curated soundtrack will support your experiential journey.
You can expect to hear others in their process, as breathwork often facilitates emotional release. Unlike Holotropic Breathwork, however, this approach does not encourage frequent or ongoing cathartic release, and you will be encouraged to use vocal toning instead of making loud or erratic sound.
At a couple of points in the journey, the group will be invited to make a big, collective sound to activate energetically and facilitate energetic release.
If you are sensitive to sound, you may like to bring earplugs to support your inward journey.

Tai Hubbert is an experienced Breathwork Facilitator who has been guiding sessions in Seattle for over a decade. She will be supported by highly skilled and trauma-informed assistants who have completed facilitator Breathwork Facilitator Training with Tai. They will offer support with verbal cues, and (optional) touch and energy work.
If you prefer more individualized support, we recommend attending a smaller group event or scheduling a private session.

While conscious connected breathwork is a powerful resource of inner healing and self-discovery, it is not the right resource for everyone and it is not advised for those with certain physical and psychological conditions. Before registering, please review the Contraindications & Considerations at the bottom of this page, and reach out to Tai with any questions.
For those seeking more personalized guidance and therapeutic support, we highly recommend 1:1 sessions with a facilitator.

WHAT TO BRING:
To support your comfort during the breathwork journey, please bring:
Yoga mat or camping pad. You will be reclined for approximately 75-80 minutes, so please bring a thick yoga mat or camping pad/cushion.
Thin pillow and 1-2 blankets. Please bring a thin pillow and 1-2 blankets. Body temperature can fluctuate, so it’s best to ensure you stay warm and comfortable.
Water bottle. Hydrate well before and after the session, and bring a water bottle should you need to coat your throat during the breathwork.
Layered, comfortable clothing. Wear relatively loose and comfortable clothes (avoid tight waist/bra bands, which can inhibit the deep breathing).
(Optional) Eye pillow/mask. Many people prefer to wear an eye mask to block ambient light and support the inward journey.
(Optional) Journal and pen. You might like to capture insights that arise, or draw/journal following the session.
(Optional) A snack! It’s common to work up an appetite, so consider bringing a protein-rich snack to eat after the journey and to help ground your energy.
AND WHAT NOT TO BRING:
Scented body products/perfumes. Please refrain from wearing perfume or any heavily scented body products.
Drugs/alcohol. The only substance we’ll be using is the breath; please do not come under the influence of any drugs or alcohol.
Colds or Covid. We will be a large group open-mouth breathing for an hour. As an inherently high-risk activity, please DO NOT attend if you feel ANY symptom of illness, or have someone sick at home.
CONTRAINDICATIONS & CONSIDERATIONS:
While active breathwork is of value to anyone interested in healing, personal growth and self-realization, it's best suited for those who have some background in therapeutic and/or spiritual work, as this supports one's capacity to remain in a state of witnessing awareness through potentially strong states of physical, emotional, and psychological experience.
Due to the physiological shifts during breathwork and expanded states of consciousness, the following physical and psychological conditions are contraindicated for this type of breathwork:
pregnancy
high blood pressure or history of cardiovascular disease or stroke
epilepsy or history of seizure
personal or family history of aneurysms
glaucoma or detached retina
bipolar disorder or history of manic episode
schizophrenia and/or history of psychosis
recent major surgeries or infectious disease
PTSD*
history of significant trauma (acute or complex)*
asthma (please bring your inhaler and consult with a primary care physician prior)
*For those with histories of PTSD or trauma, we strongly advise a private, 1:1 session where a facilitator can support the highest outcome possible for your experience.
If you have any question as to whether this type of breathwork is appropriate for you, please contact Tai to request information that you can review with your licensed medical care provider.
